Why steel and not aluminium?

Greater durability and structural strength: steel is more rigid and strong than aluminum. It will be much more resistant to shocks and deformation. It will resist better to bad weather like wind, snow or other forces.
With a steel pergola, there is no risk of a pole twisting, unlike with an aluminum pergola.

To have the same mechanical strength on aluminum structures, the aluminum would have to be very thick which would be very expensive.

Most of the aluminum structures available on the market are made of extruded aluminum tubes that are very thin in thickness and therefore will not have great resistance to wind and other factors over time.

Solar Infos

Our Papillon 6,48 Kwc design pergola or carport will generate 6490 Wp*.
It is equipped with 16 bifacial solar panels** and 8 dual microinverters.

Opting for a solar pergola or carport will allow you to self-finance your purchase thanks to your solar production. In addition, your production will eventually allow you to reduce your electricity bill by around 30% every year!

Would you like to know your production capacity? Click below and fill in the form. We will then send you a report within 2 days:

Calculate my production capacity

Installing a structure with photovoltaic panels allows you to benefit from an investment grant as soon as your pergola is connected to the grid (under a self-consumption contract).

Find below all the information you need to make your choice:

*The Wp (peak watt) is the power generated under the best exposure conditions.

**Bifacial panels are 10-15% more efficient than monofacial panels.
Micro-inverters are used to transform the direct current captured by the panels into electrical current that can be used in your home. They are connected to the solar panels and the electricity meter.

Price and Amortization

Price :

Our Papillon 6,48 Kwc pergola or carport structure is priced at 34 286€ including VAT.

Amortization :

Do you want to reduce your electricity bill or self-finance your purchase with your carport?

Here is an example of financing:

For a house of approximately 100m2 occupied by 4 people living in Ternay, in the Lyon metropolitan area (69) with a standard consumption and a 12Kva blue tariff subscription, this household will consume approximately 14,100 Kwh/year. (source EDF).

This household will pay approximately 2908€ per year for electricity (estimate based on 0.2062€/kWh blue tariff price from EDF in February 2023).

This household wants to buy our butterfly solar carport 6,48 Kwc. In Lyon, with this structure, this household will produce approximately 7400 kWh/year of solar energy, that is a saving of 1526€ including tax per year.
Calculation of production carried out with the INES software (National Institute of Solar Energy).

Here are two possible financing simulations:

  • Over 5 years: If these customers opt for a 5-year purchase (60 months), the solar carport will cost them 571€ including tax per month and save them 127€ including tax per month thanks to its solar production. Therefore, the carport will cost them 444€ per month for the first 5 years, plus their electricity consumption.
  • Over 10 years: If these customers opt for a 10-year purchase (120 months), the solar carport will cost them 286€ including tax per month and save them 127€ including tax per month thanks to its solar production. Therefore, the carport will cost them 159€ per month for the first 10 years, in addition to their electricity consumption.

At the end of this period, the solar shelter will allow them to reduce their electricity bill by 1/3 for a minimum of 20 years. They will have also added value to their property thanks to the carport and will have a shelter to protect their vehicles or other items.

With future increases in electricity prices, the profitability of solar production will automatically increase.

Investment allowance:

For any self-consumption contract with sale of surplus, the State grants an investment premium of 0.32€ * the power of your installation, i.e. 0.32*6480 = 2073.6€.

Administrative procedures

With the purchase of a solar structure, there are various administrative steps to be taken.
You can take care of these steps yourself, go through an organisation that does this or we can do it for you.

  • Planning permission: for any structure over 20m², you must apply for planning permission from your local council in order to obtain the necessary authorisation to install your pergola.
  • Connection request to ENEDIS: complete and send the connection request to ENEDIS, so that as soon as your pergola is installed you can use your solar consumption. Once the connection has been made, you will receive a certificate.
  • Consuel: once the connection has been made, you will need to obtain a consuel to certify that the structure has been properly installed so that you can be connected to the network without any problems.

If you want us to do this for you, it is necessary to count 499€ TTC for the whole of the steps for a Preliminary Declaration (<20m2) and 990€ TTC in the event of Building Permit (>20m2).
In the event that the application to your local council is refused, we will reimburse you for your purchase by deducting the cost of the administrative procedure.

Warranties

Our products are guaranteed according to their composition:

  • Structure excluding paint: 10 years
  • Solar panels produced : 15 years
  • Performance solar panels: 30 years at 85% efficiency
  • Communication gateway and meter: 2 years
  • Micro-inverters: 25 years
  • Mounting system: 10 years

We do not guarantee the powder coating because the durability of the paint can change depending on the weather conditions.

Delivery and Installation

Delivery:

Our transporters will contact you by phone or email in order to define with you a delivery day (between 9am and 6pm).

The unloading will be done thanks to a tailgate and the carriers will deposit your order at the foot of the truck.

Please note that the delivery is made with semi-trailer trucks (16m) or 7.5 T trucks (10m). You must therefore be sure that your home is accessible.

Installation:

Once your structure has been delivered to your home, all you have to do is assemble it and connect it to the network.

Assembly & Installation

Option 1: You take care of the installation yourself:

  • Make the foundations necessary for the fixing of the pergola by following our recommendations here
  • Then assemble the structure following the assembly instructions that you will receive with your order

Option 2: You go through professionals:

  • Call in a mason to lay the foundations
  • Use an installer to assemble the structure

Connection

To connect your installation, you will have to go through a QualiPV or RGE certified installer.

The installer will make a trench to bury the connection cable and run it to your meter.

The connection cable will be supplied by the installer. You will need to tell him the distance between the pergola and your meter.

If you go through a QualiPV or RGE installer, you will benefit from the investment premium for a self-consumption contract with resale of the surplus.

Once the connection is complete, your installation will work straight away and will allow you to consume your Kwh and sell the surplus.
